Taught at University of Wisconsin-Parkside for 23 years, teaching pre-college level course in reading and writing as well as directing the Writing and Tutoring Center. Involved in University of Wisconsin System Design for Diversity to make curriculum more diverse by developing a Multi-Cultural Reading and Writing class. Directed Community Outreach Partnerships Center, funded by US Department of Housing and Development Grant to engage faculty and students in community-based teaching and learning. Organized statewide Diversity Circles to engage campus and community in dialogue about diversity to engender action and change. Organized annual Diversity Conference for eight area high schools. Taught Sociology, Ethnic Studies, Humanities, and Women’s Studies. Taught non-credit classes at the local prison.
